Holiday Fishing

So who will be fishing where this festive season? Where will you be and what places have you planned to fish during the holidays:

I will be on leave from this Friday and will be taking a break from bass fishing for a week as we are leaving for Kosi Bay on 13 Dec to target some salty fooshies, 6 guys and 2 boats, can't wait! Rest of my holiday break I'll be be bass hunting in the the KZN dams e.g. Alberts, Inanda, Goedies and the private venue at Camperdown. Back at work on 5 Jan 09.

Bassassin is not going away other than for the odd weekend so will be fishing Theewaters, Kwaggas, Clanwilliam, Bulshoek. If time allows he's hoping to make it up to the EC to fish Wriggleswade.

I've got my best mate coming out from UK in early Jan. I introduced him to Bass fishing last year and he loved it. Especially fishing frogs on the top. We'll do another couple of trips this year - I'm thinking of introducing him to Bass fly fishing. We also going TIGER FISHING at Jozini. Yeeha! Anybody got any tips?

Going to Tzaneen dam and Ebenezer in Next 2 weeks.Probably Ebies tomorrow.Also going to spend the week over Xmis and Nyears at Sterkfontein!!!! Cant wait
Also want to go to Kwena(Braam Raubenhamer) neer Lydenburg in early Jan - Will still see if that happens.
Then theres still a few dams on my to do list but dont think Ill get there(maybe if the petrol hits R6,00 like they said on the news last night):Ohrigstad dam

Well i'm off to jhb and was gonna do some yellow fishing on the vaal river, but i value my life and dont feel like contracting some disease. After that I'm off to try some saltwater flyfishing in thailand, but havent been able to find out about the legalities, hopefully i wont spend my holiday in a thai prison!

YoungJeff you are going to have a blast. We went to Jozini last December where I caught my first Tiger! What a rush, they just don't give up! We used every kind of spinner and Tiger tackle that you can think of but could not land a Tiger. The people camping next to us where nailing the Tiger but they were using chicken meat, liver and sardine. So we tried the same and wallah we got ourselves some Tigers. Their number one food is live bait though, so if you can catch yourself some small Tilapia / Bream and send them out you going to nail yourself some healthy Tiger. It is legal by the way. :blue-cool:

Take lots of fuel with, the place is massive and if you catch by the dam wall in those protected coves and still have to travel all the way back to camp make sure you check the weather conditions often as the wind comes up and the open lake becomes a sea with some huge waves! Oh also whats out for the crocks, there are some monsters! :blue-shock:

Well my buddy Peeps is coming down from Jhb and he wants to fish, fish, fish and fish some more!!!! :blue-biggrin:

Wants to do Alberts, Inanda and Goedies..... Looking forward to it as we will be taking my boyz with us on a couple of occations!!!!! :blue-biggrin:

Anyone up for foooshing Goedies in that time?? Would be best to have a few boats going... He will be here from the 26th and driving back on the 3rd.... No plans yet as to when we do what dams.....

Its a crappy stretch of river in the cape where they charge you about a million bucks to fish. It apparently holds some nice fooshies though :blue-doubt:
