I guess the local guys have always been fishing for the pot at Clan. If the fishing this weekend past is anything to go by I highly doubt that the smallmouth population will be in danger anytime soon.

All n all a very productive weekend of fishing with at least 80 smallies coming out at different parts of the dam. sizes ranging from dink up to 1.6kg. I also caught two Largemouth dinks. We got bit on all sorts of applications and baits, top water etc...really pretty much anything.

I though I had the new small mouth record on the line when this beauty emerged. I've never felt any fresh water fish fight quite like it, darting, zipping around and stripping of line. Was a real privilege to catch it:
