Fly Fishing For Small Bass

Hi Guys,

Short and Sweet, two hour Session on Saturday,

Sight fished these little guys on 4Wt Fly Rod with Dry Flies(PAra RAB and Griffiths Gnat). Both showed interest if fly landed close, but only struck on a small twich. Fly Sizes was 14 & 18, tippet of 6x.

They fight very leka on the lower weight fly rod and was fun to sight and target fish.

This was at La Ferme, but I would give it a skip. I was desperate and was at the front door so rather went through with it instead of just turning around.

Dont know all the local dams otherwise I would point you in a better direction.

On a 00Wt Bass of any size should be great fun :lol:

I might be crucified for saying this, but I think something that should be fun on the 000wt could be bluegills.

Just tie on a White Death and you should have a lot of Fun.

Dude, you are bang on...blue gill on light fly rod setups is good fun...

Only problem in small ponds are population bottlenecks due to their fast breeding cycle, but if you know of a dam that holds a 500gr to 1kg Bluegill,You will have some good times

Let me know how it goes on the 000Wt, still a dream to own one but one day when I am big and learned how to cast properly
