Hello people. New to the fishing thing - my son just wants to fish. Live in Kempton Park. Want some advise of where to go to fish for any fish - carp, bass - doesn't matter, and also some tackle shops. Some info would be appreciated. Thanks. Craig.

There's a cople of dams in the kempton/boksburg/benoni area.
Blaauwpan dam
Homestead dam
Middel dam
Malherbe dam

Alberton:
R50 dam
Jackson dam
Rietvlei zoo farm

Other:
Bass lake- henley on klip(out towards vereeniging)
Rushmere- outside krugers dorp.
Donaldson dam- western area
Klipdrift dam- towards potchefstroom
Boskop dam- outside potch
Bass-o-rama- outside pretoria.
Potch dam- potchefstroom

Tacle shops:
Mia's- benoni/ fourways
Western accesories- boksburg.
Angling fishing supplies- boksburg north.
Goodies for garden complex, toys for boys shop- kempton park, birchleigh area.(Very niespite the name :blue-badgrin: )
Anglers den- bedford view.

Thanks for the list of dams, where is the Malherbe dam? I know where the other dams are.

Do you know if there are any bass in the dam on the left going down Rondebult from Sunward Park from N17 side. I see they breaking the ground away - now you can see dam from road.

I wanna go fish that dam so badly next to the hihghway, malherbe dam is just off atlas in impala park. Its by the pinkster church on malbore road in Impala park. I don't know anything about the dam in sunward park ill go tjek it out sometime. I think I've heard someg about it,ill find out and let u know,I think its called cinderella dam and if it is there is bass there.

Most of the dams in the benoni area has bass,especially the small ones in impala park.

In the new year I also want to go but don't like going alone, maybe we should team up going to these dams.
The invite (team up ) is to anyone wanting to not go alone. It getting dangerous to take a chance going alone.

I went to have a look at Malherbe dam this morning. Seems quite nice place. L-B have you caught anything there? Please let me know when you will be going there again.

Howdy guys are there definitely bass in all those lil impala park dams I went past one evening and only caught barbel,has any one fished that malherbe dam next to the church?

Malherbe has bass, just very tough fishing, I fish there often myself.
Homestead, Blaauwpan, Middeldam and basically al the dams in Boksburg have bass in them. I have heard of 4kg fish coming out of some of those dams.

Malherbe has some fishing pressure from bank anglers,but have seen guys on pontoons pulling lots of fish from there. Personally I won't go on the water with my pontoon, the water is in a bit of a mess.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions about the dams in that area, even keen to meet for a session. Just in the Freestate now till Monday fishing some private farm dams.
