here is a cool site that gives you current wind conditions. I use it for checking kitesurfing conditions and its a fairly accurate realtime wind reading.

note that these are averages so the gusts are higher.

Thanks Frogstar. I have been looking for one of these. Weater reports have been dismall for Kwaggas in the last month or 2.

This is cool and very useful. It looks like the SW is pumping again like it did early yesterday morning and the launch.

It appears from the predictions for yesterday weathersa.co.za were the closest although still wrong on on the wind direction for Kwaggas :blue-doubt:

Navrik, 'windguru' is very accurate for Kwaggas,I also look at the isobars,their spacing tells you whether the wind will be strong or mild.
You can easily detect direction, as well as approaching time by checking every half hour. The isobars will be shown after 1/2 hour in their new position. By scaling you are able to see when the cold front and wind will reach the shore.

Great,do yourself a favour and use that knowledge,I also use it from my flying days and it works! Those charts are accurate and the commercial pilots give valuable info to the chart organisers.

This site <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://windreport.co.za/wr_brandvleidam.shtml">http://windreport.co.za/wr_brandvleidam.shtml</a><!-- m --> gives a report for Brandvlei which is 2 hours behind, you can also get SMS updates which are realtime. It's down quite often but useful when it works. I send an SMS before getting out of bed at 4AM to get an idea of what's happening.

They have recently added one for Sedgefield which could be useful for Groenvlei, now we just need Villiersdorp and Clanwilliam :blue-doubt:

Yes wind report is pretty cook. I think the two sites are the same or linked in some way as you will notice that the sms numbers and codes are the same.

I'm running the weatherbug add-on in firefoex.

When you go in on the weatherbug website :http://weather.weatherbug.co.uk/South%20...g_id=en-gb
you also get current conditions, but there's nothing for Kwaggas or Worcester yet :blue-evil:
