Just went to go renew my licence (angling of course ) with Cape Nature in Town.

To my surprise the clerk hands me my January copy of Getaway magazine. I don't know whether it's Cape Nature or Tourism (as they are also located at the same walk-in centre), but I thought it a nice gesture and worth a compliment seeing that we're also so quick to moan about things. :eusa_clap:

At last one gets rewarded for doing the right thing. The magazine is just R30, but that does mean that I only paid R15 for a year's guilt-free fishing :blue-cool:

It's on the corner of Burg and either Hout or Castle street, can't remember which, so just a block or so off Strand street. If I'm not mistakn it's next to the Spur.

You guys are lucky, I just bought my yearly Msinsi fishing license and it cost R100.

Then again I have a wild card for 200 odd bucks and I get free entry and free launch at any Msinis dam year round. :blue-biggrin:

What do the Cape boys pay for entry and launching at your favorite dam.

Just for the day its R25.00 per angler and R50.00 for the launch (boat)......Thats if you have paid your annual "fee" (discount) of R110.00.....thereabouts.....otherwise you pay R50.00 per angler per day.... :blue-biggrin:

We don't get free access anywhere with the permit, but some places require you to have it in order to fish. :blue-cry: So yeah, the KZN guys are lucky with the R100 fee.

Everything that we touch,gets a price increase.

Boat=skippers=R1000
Guns=renewal =R1000
Beach driving,no more
Braai= almost permits
Fishing= from R15 to R500. WTF!
Crayfish from R80 to R500.

23k for taking 12 people out for cage diving.Thats the permit to take them out!
Another R 1800 per person after that.

If we go to dassen the cost is around R800 per day,towing from Paarl,boat petrol .....
The 5 permits for the 20 crayfish wil cost R2500.
One can always use the permits again but for people that does this 3 times a season?

Is that 20 per permit (80 crayfish total) or 4 per permit (20 crayfish total). For 20 crayfish your cost is R165 per crayfish....hardly worth it :blue-cry:
