I have to tell you guys about our social fishing Club called Slip-Weigh Basscasters... it’s a diverse bunch of fisherman that come together for a monthly meeting and the official drink of the club is Jeigermeister.. Enuf said! We also have regular fish-offs and it’s always great fun... politics are frowned upon and if you have met our Chairman (Bryan on BFSA) you will understand why the rules are adhered to. And why am I rambling on? What was my point? Oh yes... Drew mentioned that one of the Juniors (he works at Crow Bass Tackle) he has been working with has been selected for the SA Junior team but lacks the R5,000 it takes to get there... so Slip-Weigh passed the hat around last night to see if we could help a little... nearly R3,500 in cash was raised!

All I can say is what a Club! This is a challenge to all the other clubs out there to better our sum!

Well I had the honer to visit the club last year , and what a club Brain and the okes really made us feel welcome and had such a good time with everyone . So big ups to all of you and sweet to helping out the oke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was Mikey Lowrence that coined the phrase, "Slipweigh is a special club for special people, with special needs" :blue-lol: ... crazy bunch.

The junior in question is Ralph Riggien and he has not made the SA team... yet... He has made the KZN side and needs help to get to nationals at RDW.

He works for Lionel Crow at his shop, and Lionel himself is a key gear in the junior bassing machine. He sponsors some of the kids and skippers as well. Hell, his wife even holds clinics at the shop for other women. All the people associated to that shop (Crow Bass Tackle) are a great bunch, so I think a word of gratitude and appreciation must go to Lionel for his efforts. When I called Ralph to give him the news he was pretty taken aback.

One of the highlights of last nights meeting was Bryan's awesome prize for his efforts on the second day of the IBC :blue-badgrin:

The prize was awarded to me for being "CAUGHT" on camera drop shotting at the IBC.. I am a hectic power fisherman and hence the "prize." Go on Mr Fisher, I know you have a photo of the prize and are just itching to post it on the site...

Apart from that, lets give credit where credit is due and a round of applause to Lionel for his effort's towards the juniors as well as other unsung hero's that give or have given a lot of time to promoting juniors,past and present.... :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:

Drew thanks for the kind words. We are just trying to give a little back into an awesome sport. We want to support the juniors so if anybody has any maps,info, tactics etc they can pass on for Rus De Winter in September please let us know. We want to get the Juniors together and start briefing them about the dam.

Awesome effort slip-weigh. Any members coming in to the shop just needs to mention to Kate or any of the staff they are from slip-weigh and we will make sure they get less 5% on their purchase.
