Bass fingerlings Posted by: Hen - 01-26-2021, 12:43 AM - Forum: Kwazulu Natal - No Replies

Hi there

I was just wondering, if anyone can give me some advice/contacts on where I can obtain bass fingerlings in KZN. It's for farm dam stocking purposes. ( zululand)

Any response would be hugely appreciated !!

Shimano agents Posted by: Tiaan Forbes - 12-05-2020, 01:09 PM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (1)

Hey guys,

Ive heard shimano has a new agent in SA, does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

If so who is the new agent.

I'm trying to find out what the new rods that are coming in will be. Zodias? intenza? exprite? I have curados but have seen that they are being discontinued in the states.

TIA

Bass Boat Wanted Posted by: MickeyM - 10-20-2020, 08:03 PM - Forum: Bass Boats - Replies (7)

Hi all,
Looking to upgrade from my splash bass to something a bit bigger.

17 ft hull with 115-150hp.  Would consider a 16ft with a wide beam.

My budget is around R100k.

From what I can see, there is very little available on the internet right now. I have registered as a potential buyer on bass boats.co.za

If anyone is looking to sell or has any kind of advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Setting up a healthy dam ecosystem Posted by: RJ12345 - 09-27-2020, 03:03 PM - Forum: Bass Biology - Replies (1)

I have an existing dam with a few bass but due to the drought here in the western cape, only 4 survived. So I am wondering how to set up a healthy ecosystem for my dam and where I can pickup some new fish.

Newbie to Bass Fishing Posted by: Mogs - 09-23-2020, 02:48 PM - Forum: Introductions - Replies (1)

Hello Ladies and Gents,

I'm Mogs, Its great to virtually meet you and totally new to bass fishing. I have been rock and surf fishing for all my life however, I have been living in Gauteng Centurion area for around 13years now. I don't get much time to travel to the coast to fish so I decided to take up bass fishing. I have tried Carp fishing but its not something I'm totally passionate about. Bass fishing I feel is as closest to sea fishing I can get. As I am new I would love it any of you can give me any advice or tips.

I currently have the below setups:

Rod - Sensation Tournament Weapon Pro
Reel - Abu Garcia Blue Max
Line - Berkley Vanish 12LB Clear

Rod - Shimano Alivio DX Spinning Med/Heavy
Reel - Daiwa Laguna Spinning 3000
Line - Boss Braid 20LB

Thats all i have so far, please can you guys advise me what else as beginner i should get.
my intention is to fish as much as i can in the Centurion and Pretoria area and later as i get more experience i will try other spots around Gauteng.

Any and all advice will be really appreciated, thank you in advance.

Best regards
Mogs  Smile

Which electric trolling motor ?? Posted by: ShelB - 08-13-2020, 03:16 PM - Forum: Bass Boat Equipment - Replies (4)

Hi Guys, new to the forum so hello. I am looking to purchase a trolling motor. Its for my 4.2m quintrex boat that i use in salt water estuaries. I have looked at the 64lb WATERSNAKE GPS ELECTRIC MOTOR GEO SPOT BOW MOUNT as i want a trolling motor with GPS , anchor mode , remote control etc. I will be spinning and flyfishing of my boat so the trolling motor needs to be SALT water ready have GPS, anchor mode, remote control etc so the Geo spot sounds like a great option?

I contacted Bass.co.za however they only expect stock of the GEO units end Sept?

My questions are :
1. Are watersnake motors any good or should i rather look at another manufactorer such as Motorguide etc? If so why?
2. Where is the best place to get pricing on trolling motors in SA?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
