Hi. I am in the process of buying a humminbird 988si gps combo. Does anyone know the unit and use it. My concern is the mapping. Does it contain sa dams and if not how do you go to work to get and use it on this system. Thanks koos

I have been using one for the last 4 or 5 years. The only disappointing thing is the mapping. I just create outline maps of dams on Google Earth, nothing fancy. So no topo maps. I'm sure they are available somewhere though.

If I had to buy a new unit now I'd go for a Lowrance gen 2 touch or 3 unit to be honest. It's just so much easier to get maps and info for these units, ask Mr Fishton.
