Hi Guy's,
Does anyone have experience of the Daiwa megaforce baitcaster with twitch bar ?
I read on a forum somewhere something about plastic gears !

Hi

I have one... not sure if it has plastic gears? Never actually heard that about any reels?

Don't let Q hear you talking about them, he had a hate-hate relationship with his!

I think it swims with the fishes now!
Occasionally I use words I don't fully understand to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Nice one Kassie, thanks. I saved that site to favourites some time back as it's quite invaluable and would suggest such.

Many thank's for replies.
I have since heard of a few of the twitch bars that have come adrift I think because of misuse.
Anyhow I am looking at spending about R600-700 (pensioner budget) and new to using a baitcaster for bass fishing or and have also been offered the Daiwa Laguna 100hs as well as the Rovex Oberon and Abu black max 2.
Any comments good or bad are welcome.
Many thank's.

Haha, you damn right. It is swimming with the fish in the Breede river! The reel followed the newly rigged lure it just caused to snap off. Man, that was satisfying Big Grin

The abu black max reels are really great. i have one and know a couple of people who own one and never had any issues. i also have the silvermax which is basically the same thing. my 2c

i've seen some nice combo deals with an abu vengeance 7' paired with a blackmax for R900 odd at fishing specialist the other day.

Robfish - with that sort of budget I would go with a Shimano Caenan. We have a few and a Black Max - no comparison.

Thank's guy's for all the help.
I'm going to try and go for a Black max 2.
Another buddy of mine has a few I've since found out and he say's for the price, it's a very good reel.

Decent reel if you remove the twitching bar and add a few parts though
