I just have to let my frustration get out somewhere!!
I posted a thread a while back about my Smoke giving me some issues. Got some suggestions, then finally decided to send it to Apex Walker to be fixed. I sent them an e-mail requesting their address etc. and after a week of not getting a reply, I decided to give them a call.

So last week Tuesday I sent my reel to Apex Walker via Speed services. I phoned Apex on the Thursday giving them the tracking number as I saw on the net that my parcel was sitting at their Post Office.

Yesterday morning I checked again, only to see that my reel has not been collected yet :blue-mad: I phoned them again, and the lady said she'll find out what's going on, and then phone me right back... Still hasn't phone me :blue-evil:

So, I just checked on the net again, and yes, my reel is still at the Post Office!!!
How's that for customer services!!!???

Spoken to a shop in Cape Town where I purchased quite a few of my Quantum reels before and they are not keen to stock Quantum any more as they are battling to get any spares from Apex Walker.

Always a shame when a useless agent screws up a brand

Is "useless" in the correct position in that sentence? :blue-badgrin: :eusa_whistle:

I had a horrendous experience with them a while back when I tried to get my JW trolling repaired under warranty.

Long story short...it got nasty, plus when I eventually did get it back, the prop was missing.

Really disappointing.

That's not acceptable PhalaBass! What was actually wrong with the reel?
Any product is only as good as the back-up service behind it.........

Sounds like those guys do a lot of whistling.........

Let me add to this can off worms.

I had a jarvis walker trolling motor and my shaft split in 2. it was 6monts old. Had to fight with the owner for my money. I use my trolling motor daily for work. I put trolling motors and batteries trough a tough test.

Now jarvis walker change the shaft after they told me they never had a issue before and i am the only one with the shaft splitting.

Sorry....just adding some more worms to the age old debate; what came first: Shimano or Quantum.....sorry: Chicken or egg!

PhalaBass, on a serious note, if you send me the reel I am prepared to see if I can repair it for you provided I know what's wrong in the first place - for free, but postage is costly I know.

speak to a chap called Howard. It pays when you know someone. Most dealerships are up to crap. The whole service industry in SA does not know what integrity and values mean. Buy a reel that will last as long as it has to and do preventative maintenance. Not gonna name people here but I can think of a few. Funny how there is always a hand full of people willing to actually do their jobs.
