Sadly the time to fish has not arrived for me yet , but I did spool one of the reels with 17lb mono , and did what I do every weekend , stand casting in the yard at home
All I can say is WOW !!!!!
Compared to the Blackmaxes and even the Calcutta 400 that I have been using the Scorpion is a dream come true.
Firstly it is amazingly light and casting has become a pleasure. I no longer have to put effort into casting just to get some distance, gentle casts produce amazing distance , and I seem to have become a LOT more accurate and consistent with my placements.
What is also noteworthy is that the overruns have become very small compared to my other reels. I realise that a lot of this is due to the quality of the reel , but it also has a lot to do with the way the reel fits in my hand. I don't have the smallest hands in the world yet my thumb seems to find its home on the spool consistently and easily.
I realise this is all tests done in the "comfort" of my own home , but it is a very real comparison for me.
Am I pleased with the reels , HELL YES !!! Fishing is going to be a pleasure from now on.
I felt a little guilty buying two of them at once but after this weekends casting practice I am making plans to go get some more
Thank you very much for the advice EmjaySmit
