Lake Mteri - Zimbabwe

Hi guys.

Just recently read on the forum about Zimbabwe and was thinking of this dam I fished a few years back.

I would not mind going back there this year!
Has anyone fished this dam recently??????

Check out the pictures from wildsky-adventures on facebook- they do trips up to Mteri.
I was last there in 2003 and had a great time.

Yes the dam is open for fishing!

I have heard rumors of a guys that fished their recently.. and he caught afew.. how true? Im not sure.
But the source did come from a reliable source..

Im definitely thinking of giving it a bash before this year is up.

When is the best time to fish the dam?
My knowledge is limited..

From what I know, the best time is late July - October, depending on the water level as it is an irrigation dam and not a fishing dam. Take lots of liquid cos you will k*k dehydrate quickly there. The sunsets are absolutely beautiful and it's definitely on my bucket list for a trip with my boys one day. We went in early September but that was that year and every year is different......
