Hi Guys,

I suspect this is one of those dams that might be a fairly closely guarded secret , but does anyone have information / news about this dam ?
( How to get there , do I need a permit , what's the fishing like ,etc. ?)

I was searching the forums , but found very little information.

My wife's family lives in the Karoo , we pass Laingsburg quite often so I thought I might make a trip one of these days.

A few of us were there a while back it was a total blow out I have never fished in wind like that or navigated waves that big.

A very interesting dam and very big it has absolutely no launch facilities we could find and had to do some bundu bashing we fished for two day without a tap.

There is no cell phone reception so if you get into trouble no one is coming for you.

Its not a kept secret its just not a very fishing friendly dam.

There was bass in it years ago but like I said we didnt even get a tap

O , ok. Dankie. Ek het gedag die fishing moet of baie goed of baie sleg daar wees as niemand oor die dam praat nie

I joined Roy on that mission. We had waves breaking over our tubes.
Those waves were massive.
If you go onto my gallery you will find a picture where you can just see the kind of waves we're talking about. (although the picture still doesn't do it justice)

Homer, ek sal like om daai dam weer te fish. Daar is largies daar. N1 tot daar is net nie lekker om te ry en mens moet op a manier a plek kry om te launch aan bokant van dam by die inlope. Dus een moerse dam, so om by die wal te launch en dan tot by die eiland en inlope te kom met a kickboat is onmoontlik al is die water plat.
