Short report by GBJ:

Filled up with petrol and ice at 04:45. Was on the water at 05:15......it was still dark!!!!!

Got at least 6-8 lekka fooshies at the reeds at the slip way. All around 800-1000g. Shot of to Andre's point and had no luck. All the way to Taxi Bay......now this was fun. The bass was feeding like mad on the top so I gooied a crank and let it stay on top of the water with slight movements now and then.....the fish whent woes. I must have caught 12 fooshies this way weighing at least 1kg each!

Oh my "swaar" from Ireland, who has only caught his first fish with me last week, got the first of the morning so he said we must keep count.....we did and he stopped when it was 20:1!!!!!

Here comes the fisherman's story. I lost a nice fish of about 2-2.5kg on a crank at Taxi Bay.

Had lunch at about 13:00 and then whent out again.......the afternoon was kak.

Sounds like good fun Norkie.... just one question, and that's to ask why you didn't throw a dinkum surface lure instead of a crank on top?

Drew, I had 3 rigs with me, one had a wormy on the other a fluke and the third a crank. This was the crank that I still had on when fishing with Robfisher last Saturday. So I gooied the crank quikly and it worked like a bomb. I thought of changing to a top water but I got a fooshie with every cast. This top water feeding only lasted about 20min.

Oh I practiced something that I learned from this site.....do not set the hook to quicly. If you do you miss, so I waited for the lure to dissapear, counted 1000 and 1 .... 1000 and 2 and then set the hook. It worked!

Tell me about it Andrer.... I'm also looking for a job like Norkie 8O

Norkie, when you fish on the surface it is normally a good idea to wait for the fish to turn before striking... you need patience to override instincts to strike.... well done bud. 8-)

Norkie,

I think you should conduct a risk assesment for weekday fishing.

You have a seriously high health risk on you hands...IE other members who cant fish during the week "gaan jou aanrand" if you carry on telling us these juicy fishing stories, while we getting kaked out by our bosses.

Mitigation method =
1 Take us with
2 Stop making us jelous
3 get some PPE IE a gun

Because when you strolling at 6kph you only get 2 seconds before your line runs out, have you ever seen a Zara flying across the water at that speed? 8O

Only kidding Norkie. Wink

well done partner  What :x only a 5kg bag at the slipway, tut tut....

One question, if your getting a 5kg+ bag at the slipway, why move away???? if you are getting 800-1000g fish, then the rats arnt around and that means mamma madiba is there as well
