Kzn smaller waters?

I want to explore kzn a bit more than i know. Im a amateur in bassfishing. I know of goedies,inanda,albert falls and the other big dams but there is not success at any of the big dams. I want to fish smaller and easy dams ,because all of my bass were caught in private small waters. i want to fish the small waters in kzn near richardsbay/empangeni. People! Please help a fellow bass angler in need for smaller and easy waters!

Hey louwster. Do you have a boat or some form of craft. Fishing is fishing no matter how big or small the water. Catching fish is made a lot easier when you learn to find them.

Big dams big fish. My preference after fishing both big and small.

Yes many people told me its the techfhf that catch the bass. Ive tried EVERYTHING and....... still no bass. I asumed that the smaller dams with easier fishing may improve my success rate...well thats my opinion. Yes i do have a small ski vee.

Try and join a bass club in your area. You will learn lots and you might be able to hitch a ride and learn from a few of the older hands.

L what baits or techniques are you using? Start with the basics. A natural (watermelon seed) Fluke rigged with a small mojo or weightless if you can. I have seen newbies at the dam hurling all kinds of "bass type" lures using anything from a surf rod to a Game Lucky Packet Special.

There is only one way to improve your fishing and that is to learn as much as you can about Bass so that you can understand their behaviour. Read through the Forums and fishing reports and members input on tackle they use and you will grow into the fisherman you hope to be.

My suggestion:
1. Learn about Bass
2. Check if you are using the correct tackle
3. Start with basic tried and tested baits
4. Fish at least once with someone who is familiar with the dam you plan to fish or ask for some guidance from them.

Get chatting to the locals and find out who the farmers are in the area. Chances are you know someone who knows someone who has a farm with a dam. Thats the best way to get access to smaller waters. I live in ballito and I have access to many farm dams just by knowing friends of farmers or the farmers themselves.

I don't agree that bigger waters are harder to fish though, so you probably going to have a tough time fishing where ever you fish, unless you using the right stuff and have a bit of guidance on how to fish.

louwster,I fish smaller dams and big ones in KZN, and the smaller dams that I have access to the average is 1,5kg, and I have caught my PB of 3,8kg there and I have seen bigger and my brother in law caught a 4,5kg. Big dams you need a boat, know where to fish, so If you dont have a boat, you will battle. There are loads of small dams holding monster fish send me a PM and I will hook you up with some!

Hi guys I live in Mandini and am desperately looking for farm dams close by to have a go at. Shongweni and Albert's are great but they a bit of a drive. If you know of any farm dams closer to my location and can provide me with contact information or any tips it would really be appreciated!
