Don't know why all the fuss about 'external spool setting'...this has been a feature on some reels considered 'inferior' for ages,such as,can we say the Q word ? Well done Shimano,now you do not have to strip a reel to get to those plastic weights in order to set your reel...massive stride in technology... :blue-rolleyes:

I wonder if they will release a 100 or 150 size like the Ci4. The rate at which tackle changes these days is phenomenal.Gone are the days of standardising all your rods and reels, unless money is not an issue, because by the time you do, your tackle is outdated. :blue-lol: or least considered to be old.

Must say... I held one of the Ci4 reels today at suburban. Feels very nice and light.
At 2400 a pop it's looks like it's definitely worth the bucks.

I agree with bassaholic about not being able to keep up with the new designs of Shimano reels. I'm a huge fan of Shimano reels but frankly its becoming a littel rediculous now...

Have to aggree with billy...this race to continually produce the super light baitcaster is becoming ridiculous.We are at a stage where the normal bass angler can no longer tell the weight differences as they are such minute improvements.It is like the car market...you buy a new hilux in 2012,then they announce a new model...that just reduces the value of my current car a whole lot,but it also has tons of others running to get the new model.Same with the reel market...got to have something new to sell,especially to a bass angler...we are all suckers for getting that new model.

Agreed, I still have plenty Curado 100D's and E 200's and they are light enough. The 100Ds in my opinion are still the best model of Curados I have used, not taking anything away from the E series which is also a great reel, but lets rather not mention the G series :eusa_angel:
