Tolla asked "on which side do you stick your numperplate on your trailer"

Herewith Regulation 35 (7) of The National Road Traffic Act:

© in such a manner that each letter and figure thereon is clearly legible;
(d) in such a manner that the whole number plate is clearly visible;
(e) to the back of a motor cycle, motor tricycle, motor quadrucycle or trailer; and
(f) one to the back and one to the front of all other motor vehicles.

(8) A number plate shall, in the case of -
(a) a double-deck bus of which the engine is at the rear, be affixed not higher than one comma nine metres from ground level; or

I work the Road Traffic Act & Regulations on a daily basis (but more with the registration and licensing regulations), but from experience and as indicated in Reg 35 (e), it has to be fixed to the back of a trailer.

Did you know that the regulations also stipulate that your licence disk has to be displayed on the left bottom corner of your windscreen, and not behind the rear view mirror, etc where lots of people place them.

thank you norkie, i have noticed that most people in sa have the numberplate on the right hand side of the trailer , at the back.
my trailer has a fixing on the left and 2 lights that will shine on the plate, when i got the boat it had a temp plate on ,so i was not sure where to fit it, did not want to get in trouble.
