I, for one,quite enjoy the promotion of products on the site...firstly because it trips a switch in BM and I get to laugh at the resulting fallout ! But Fishfinger,I am seriously doubtful that ANY offshore angler is going to go to sea in a 65 kph south easter off Cape point in any vessel,because he is going to get banged around and will get soaked. I am seriously interested in the 17 foot model,but I have reservations when one reads such "advertising"...I will wait and observe for now... :blue-doubt: It looks like it may have the hull for flat conditions,but Cape Point has other ideas,and that is where 100 kph in those swells in a 65 kph SE wind and remain dry...

i think most of you guys are off the topic , the boat can handle being in those sea conditions,it does not go 100kphr in those sea condions,that is obvious, but as an illustration to those that are not in the know, we went out when the wind was pumping and the boat handled being out there, ofcourse we are not going fishing out there when the wind is blowing that hard, thats the most extreme case,BUT, if you found yourself there, the boat would bring you home safely without to much concern, that was the illustration, get it now guys??? i dont know of any bass boat that would be able to handle those conditions without being absolutely swamped, hence the illustration of this being a Lake and Bay boat, a boat to fish all conditions,not only flat water but sea going capabiltys that are excellent. So enough mud slinging,this will be my last post. for those who would like to borrow the boat for day to fishing in the bay here, please pm me and she's yours for the day!

My observation:

Pro's: Nice looking boat. Have been wondering when someone was going to finally catch onto the idea of doing a crossover boat locally. "Bay Boats" as the yanks call them actually outsell bass boats in a fairly large portion of the US. Looks fairly well thought out. I assume it has a wet deck?
To me a "Bay Boat" like this offers the best of both worlds, but there is always a trade off, higher sides to handle bigger water also creates a bigger surface area for the wind to catch you and blow you around when you are on trolling motor, meaning you require a stronger trolling motor and more batteries.

Con's:
To just appear on the site and then make a statement that in a 35knot wind at sea it is bone dry is well just plain insulting. Do you really think we are all that stupid? A 35 knot wind creates white caps that are bigger than that boat, the boat might be able to handle it but it sure as hell ain't gonna be dry.
Lake and Bay is a brand name of an American Boat brand built in Florida.

Overall though it's a nice looking boat and I wish you good look with the new design.

Can I book it for a day in the Durban harbor? I would also like to test it at lake Jozini, conditions can get rough there.

As Shannon said, perhaps your "entrance" was not quite as per the script in the marketing manuals but it certainly looks like a great product, wish you all the best with it.

Thanks Guys, i am based in Cape Town, so a bit difficult to get to Durbs! Any guys out this side that would like to take the boat for a days fishing and give a review on the forum after are welcome!
