So which ones are the coolest and most functional around?

Dont wanne pay a 1000 bucks, as I alway loose them.

Try the make polaroid. I have found them to be the best value for money and they do not really make me look that bad.

I have tried a few different makes like strike king and the Rapala ones to name a few, but so far I am totally happy with my Solar Bats. The clarity and comfort is excellent and it cost me R499. So I would definitely recommend looking at those.

I use Ray Ban Polarized...but losing them can be very costly. Found that our twice before :blue-cry:. Will definitely switch to cheaper ones for boat use.

I tend to agree with the proper Polaroid branded ones. They are around R600-R700 with very good lenses. My eyes are very sensitive and I immediately pick up eye strain if the lenses are not up to scratch.

Then I have just received details g on the new Strike King ones. I am very keen to try them. Almost sure I saw Mark Zona wearing some today watching his fishing show catching huge Blue Gills with his kids.

I picked up a pair of Snowbee's floating frames a while ago for 120 bucks,for that money their not to bad at all :-)

I have 2 pairs that I use.I have Oakley Antix(polarised) for very clear,bright skies and a pair of Rapala's with a goldish type lense.I use these for overcast and very early/late fishing as they seem to brighten things up a lot.

Same here. I use their over specs over my glasses and it fits like a glove.

Bought myself some wicked Oceans today, actually very well priced at 290 a pop. Was at Edgars at the 50% off sale, they had some Oackleys at 50% of and they still would have cost met 1.5k, not nice seeing that amount of money fly of a boat, so decided against them.

So what is the deal with all the different colour lenses? obviously diffrent colours for diffrent weather conditions but im no pro so what is the best "all round" to go for or is this more based on personal preference?

Ginja to answer your question, the lower the light the lighter the lens. instead of carrying two pairs of sunglasses one for low light (brown lens) and one for bright light (blue or grey) I purchased a pair of Makos at around R1200 about 12 years ago. they have photochromic lenses or transition lenses built in so the lens tints according to the light condition.
I used these for fly fishing, Commercial tuna fishing and now for bass and they are awesome, but yes they are not cheap. Now that my eyes are getting worse I am wondering if anyone knows a good optician that can do a prescription with my existing pair of Makos, I would hate to have to give them away.

Ah,Brenden,you are now in the 'old dudes' class where you have to hold that hook far away to focus when you are trying to put skinny 7 lb flouro through a tiny drop shot hook eye ! Talking about glasses,I have used Ocean Waves for years...light grey for that early morning and the brown for bright days.Only problem is they have glass lenses which are much heavier than plastic types,but you cant beat the clarity of glass for sight fishing.

Yep smurf its getting to that, the worst is when u stop at a spot and end up riding another ten minutes on the t motor cause you cant judge distance :blue-doubt: the other problem is that the waves at twk look alot smaller without my glasses and I wonder why my partner is white in the face when we stop.

I refuse to get reading glasses but I am in the market for longer arms :blue-biggrin:
