New Private Dam i stumbled into..

So, LindiBlommekind and I took our Basset for a walk on a sunday 2 weeks ago and stumbled apon a very awesome new spot. Fortunately her uncle is The Captain of the Police Department and knows alot of the farmers so he said we more than welcome to come try there.

Sunday morning i woke, buggered from Knorhoek, wind was blowing but i decided to go have a look. Packed my tube, some baits and my new setup and off i went.Below are images of what i found...






and YES there are bass. Was only able to hook 1 of +-600grams on a Mr Jumbo grub Junebag in colour. i didnt fish any spot for longer than 5min due to being a short float trip, but was well worth it.

expect some decent reports from the Honey Hole...

Joh awesome! Great structure, clear water, looks like a great spot for a couple of lunkers! Where is this, or is it a secret? I have recently moved to Stellenbosch and Im still looking for spots to go fish around the area. Only decent place was at Ongegund.

This spot is not really a secret its more the fact that it is a private dam so to always get access might be an issue. There are a good few dams out in Somerset and Stellies that hold some really great fish.

The water in this dam is a dark brakkish colour. Quite clear till it gets to dark.... From the quality and strength of the 1 i did catch i can only imagine that there must be super Lunkers in there. Will soon be making another trip there and maybe the mrs will join this time.

Awesome! If you could direct me to a couple of spots I would really appreciate it. I gave up saltwater fishing and re-united with my first true love of bass fishing and it is driving me crazy where to go fish.
