Ernst, my concerns / observations:

Can you not decide wether to use (hot?) dam surface water or to recycle that which is in the well? I notice a plug in the well leading to the pump well.
Any additives, such as salt, ice, etc would be lost if you use dam water all the time?
I see the motor mounting bolt is inside the livewell?

My plan is to use that plug to circulate the water and put a plug in the "bottle" so no dam water .The bolts are high grade stainless bolts which I will still cut short and epoxy coat not to hurt our little friends. Also the water is from around 25 cm under the surface yesterday was a scorcher and the water I pumped was cool all the time even 12 midday is that the norm or " fluke"

Thanks Ernst. Maybe just put a boot on the bolt thus removing sharp edges. Heat shrink type should work.
If you can alternate between dam and well for circulation by just changing plugs, that should be fine unless of course you would need to bend over the transom to change plugs?

As many of you know I lived at sea level when I built Bleighty now I moved to north west every one said that I would loose some speed due to altitude ....well I tuned my motor myself and I managed to go faster on roodekopies than inanda I think my motor wasn't setup properly down there .....
