I am new and I have greated everyone one under the introductions
Do I need to say Good morning or afternoon every time I log in - as I see it a lot of the newbies are ignored when they greet anyway, so why bother
So where is the section I am supposed to indroduce or Identify myself ??
when i say hello i am so and so and have fished here and there is it not polite to return the favour for the new guy so he knows who you are ?
Admin should add a section on our profiles where we can tell people who we are and where we fish, I mean really what has my ocupation to do with fishing

Hi All,,

Just for clarification purposes. My name is Ryan. I live in Waterfall and fish Inanda dam often. I have only been bassfishing for a short period of plus minus two years the first 12 months of which were from the banks of the dam. Looking on in awe of the skilled anglers fishing from their boats all tailored equiped and fitted with a singular purpose of fullfilling their bassing dream of landing a Lady Lovely. I very quickly developed a huge love for the sport and well.. a respect and admiration for the bass we were hunting that are in fact an alien species fighting to survive in waters they were never meant to reach....

The truth is I have been through a very challenging period in my life... and well I started to lose faith in humanity( trust issues) and my joy and passion for life. A friend introduce me to bass fishing and I now have something in my life that I have never really had before ..which is BALANCE.

I have made good friends and have invested in a little boat and there are so many days filled with moments that I find myself on the dam or arriving or leaving and I think I have discovered the meaning of life. What a beautiful experience.

The ONE thing that I have come across and only because bassing is a microcosm of life today...is this : Some "Bass Anglers" are not really Bass Fisherman in the truest sense of the word... they are in fact an ego or a leather wallet trying to establish their dominance by pissing on the little guys... I tolerate them...I dont respect nor will I ever need or want anything from them ... you see with time, my own dedication and the friendship of real fisherman and true mentors like many of you on this site I will get there and enjoy the journey...

But like I do in traffic I will have to ignore the people who are selfish inconsiderate and egocentric....

That being said :

You may have a 21ft boat ...I dont care
You may have a 350 HP motor ...I dont care
You may have R 1200000 worth of sonar equipment ...I dont care
You may even be one of the Top 10 Anglers in the Country...I dont care..why

because if you have forgotten what it is all about ..then my friend as far as I am concerned you are just an empty shell...

Because all of this...this very site as well I believe is all about the comaraderie and fellowship of men...where give and take go without saying...where trust is implied...and common courtesy and manners is expected...a sense of humour imperative..for the common good.

Fisherman all over the world have always formed a motley brotherhood which often saw them survive and in many cases thrive...and to this brotherhood I humbly submit my meager application.

This RANT is not directed at any person in particular...

To all my true Bassing Buddies... I thank you and I salute you ..for what I am today can be directly attributed to your collective input...

To the ego nuts out there ..thank you for giving me an example of that which I choose to never ..ever..ever be
