Welcome Hellbent, there are quite a few tubers and bank anglers from that area on the site, I'm pretty sure that they'll be glad to help.

Thanx guys. I went around a few dams on the Bottlary rd on Sunday, and no water in most. Did not find Fisher place, but will try this weekend again.

Hi Navrik,
The fishing at Hilcrest is a bit more difficult than usuall, but yes there are bass left. The water is more clearer than other local dams. The pricing is way over rated, maybe difficult for the beginner. My biggest there was a healthy2.3kg,I also hooked a trout that same day. This was last year.now not so sure as they don't practice catch and release, which is very sad indeed. :blue-doubt:

I tried there once just before I got my boat - which is just over a year ago - saw a few bass swimming around but they would not commit to any baits I had there on the day.

Spoke to a guy and his son who said he had a bass on earlier in the day with a broken back Rapala.

Yeah it was bit a expensive even then at R90 a pop. Would much rather spend that money at Kwaggas.
