This pamphlet is being handed out...

Inanda Dam Evicted Families
(Ngcolosi, Qadi and Maphephetha)

We have not received our compensations, no land, houses, we need to be shown as to where our relatives’ dead bones and bodies that were exhumed in 1988 as to where they were buried.

We therefore appeal to you to sympathize with us, don’t come to Inanda Dam until the government meet these. We are marching on the 16 Dec 2010 please support us. The march is official!

You come to Inanda Dam at your own risk! The land under the water is still under our ownership since no compensation received.

For any questions contact” Sizwe Mngadi (Chairperson) 084 418 3027

Will this debacle ever end. They march last year as well but still nothing has been done. The problem is the community leader did get their compensation but fail to distribute it to the rest of them and squandered the money.

Last year there was a strong police presence, so no incidents where reported.

Typical of how the government deals with these problems. They will blame the old regime and ignore the real issues and hope the problem goes away.

how much more I have to learn about fishing.

Eish!

Well Siswe's telephone number is legit and working. Friendly chap, he says we are more than welcome to fish on the 16th as there will be no problem. I asked if we could join them in the march and he said sure thing, be there at 10:00. :blue-cool:

Seen that I will be at Jozini getting frot and moering Tigers on the 16th I will unfortunately not be able to make the march. :blue-doubt:

That is a clear "you'll be stoned / shot at while fishing the dam", nevermind what the "organiser" tells you over the phone. I wouldn't risk it. Join the march and find boat boat and vehicle stripped or gone upon your return :blue-lol:

The heading for my statement above should have been "Friday Funny". I was having the guy on, big time.

So lets continue with the "Friday Funny" then: Please can someone tender my apology for the 16th. :blue-cool:

It's a pity the little guys keep getting screwed by top dogs.
I would never risk my life by going on the 16th, I fished that dam many years back when they were rioting and believe me it was hair raising experience.

There is only one way and when blocked - really not good.
