Florida USA... if anyone has fished any of the waters around Orlando and can give any recommendations... at this stage it looks like we will fish Lake Tahoe and Lake Okeechobee... any recommendations?

Robfisher (the old man and the sea) Disneyworld is almost next to the Butler lakes and Conway lakes is very close to Orlando airport.
I will phone some connections tonight (morning there) to confirm if they still rent bassboats to fish those lakes, if you are interested.

Yip I know... the problem I’m faced with is having to take a spare suitcase over to carry all the crap back... Virgin allows a 32kg limit for fishing tackle...

My recommendation - the Rand is strong and good quality stuff is cheap in the US so take a pair of underpants and the clothes that you are wearing and buy everything else in the US otherwise you WILL end up with lots of Excess Baggage. PS: if you fly internally dont lock your suitcase or TSA will break that shit open to take a look or buy the special TSA locks.

I spent some time in Orlando in July. A word of advice: Bass Pro Shops does not stock anywhere near the range of tackle in the shop that you can find online. also, I found it slighly more expensive in the store than online. Order online and have it delivered to your hotel if you want something specific. no fuss! :blue-cool:

Another thing, I could not, for the life of me locate the office/desk where you can claim back the tax on your purchases at Orlando Intl airport, but maybe that's just me :blue-confused:

That being said, it was a helluva experience and Orlando was amazing. BPS in international drive is a must visit. Public busses (i think they are called lynx?) as well as the international drive trolley busses take you right to BPS. :eusa_dance:
