Been doing a whole lot more sanding although it doesn't look like much.

After the last pics I sprayed a guide coat on the hull



This guide coat is to allow you to see any low or high spots after more extensive sanding.

2 full days of sanding showed me a few more low spots, filled those in with fairing compound and sprayed the last coat of primer today.
Not going to show another pic as they look the same as the first primer pics. You can only see the differences close up.
As soon as the primer has dried properly I will coat the bottom of the hull (planning surface) with an epoxy resin/graphite powder mix. This will turn the bottom of the hull black and give it a very high scuff and scratch resistance.

OK Been sanding my butt off for the last 2 weeks. I think if I see another piece of sand paper I'm going to scream, curl up in a corner and start shivering :blue-shock:

I tried to do the Graphite epoxy coating I spoke about earlier and it came out really nasty, so I sanded it all off, resprayed 2 more coats of primer, sanded again (for a change) and then today sprayed my first coats of genuine yacht paint. It's called International Perfection, which is specifically made for boat use. It's as tough as nails and has an amazing finish, but it costs about R600 per litre :blue-shock:

I sprayed a half coat (light coat) and then a full coat, got a bit too trigger happy with the spray gun and got some runs and sags, but those will be sanded flat when I sand in preperation for the final coat.

How do you like those reflections????
Will look even better once I sand and final spray, then she goes over to start fiinishing her deck etc.

Sorry, I've been fighting with my paint job for the last 2 weeks - Eventually got to the point where it's GoodNuff, it's the bottom anyway only the fish are going to see it flying past :blue-biggrin:
The White area on the sides is still just primer and will stay that way until the end, no point in painting the sides now as I'm probably going to spill glue on them and I still need to install the gunwales.

Oli brought his staff around to my place in Friday (Thanks Oli) and helped me flip the hull for the last time, the next time it gets moved will be onto it's trailer.

I have now installed the Sole cleats (The sole is the floor) (The cleats are the strips of wood glued to the stringers and bulkheads, they are there to give the sole extra area to be glued down). Doesn't seem like much, but that is 60m of wood that had to be cut and glued in place



Over the next few days I will recoat the entire interior with epoxy resin before closing any area up. Once done the floatation foam will be poured in and the floor glued down and sealed. I'll post some pics once that's done.

Yes you're right Beam is 2.25m, length is 4.85m, similar in size to the Bass Seeker 480 which is 4.8m x 2.2m. I love a very wide boat, gives you way more stability when fishing and lets you concentrate on fishing and not falling off the boat. :blue-biggrin:

Got a lot done tonight, sanded the tops of the cleats smooth and then coated them with epoxy.

I then recoated all the boxes that are going to be closed up by the sole with a pigmented epoxy, I used the pigment to make sure I got everything. I have a habit of missing areas, this way there is no worrying about possible slip ups (I hope)



Going to foam the hull tomorrow and then it's time to start cutting out the sole panels
