Decided to take Monday off, and with Mommy’s blessing arrived at the gate at 5.00 am

Could not believe how low the dam is at the moment. The weather was overcast, and not a sole on the water. We were the ONLY boat on the dam! :blue-biggrin:

Arrived at Libby Bay and send out a frog which Mr Piggy ate very nicely.

The next bait was a weightless senko (watermelon gold) and oh my goodness a PB was in sight. Took line for a couple of meters and started to come in. At the boat with my friend Jacques ready to net, came out of the water and chucked my senko onto the boat!! I could talk for 10 minutes :blue-sad: almost threw the new Calais overboard.

Sulking over and a great day started to unfold. I had seven rods on the boat and proceeded to catch a fish with every single rod. Seven different types of bait and presentation.

Managed to land 13 fish between 1kg and 2.9kg. Jacques managed 2 fish of 2 Kg

Baits used DLN Texas Shad.
Yum dinger watermelon gold
Berkley floating worm (pumpkin)
Strike King Jerk Bait
Berkley Wacky Crawler Green Pumpkin
Yum madigras

And to top it off a Tilapia of almost 2 KG at Sven’s trees on the chartreuse Jig. :blue-rolleyes:

We fish both dirty and clean water with the biggest 2 fish caught in clean water.

Don’t think weekends will see me on the water if this is what peace and quiet can produce!

I could not imagine that a 11 bearing reel could make such a difference in ones casting ability. Absolutely worth the price !!

Yep Shannon, best 5 would have been over 8 KG and that is without the Talapia :blue-lol: Hope we can repaet that in the future.
