Smallmouth venues around George and Cape Town

Hi there guys

Myself and the wife want to take a break from the busy life here in JHB. Now I have the options to go and visit my grandparents in George or to go to Cape Town. But I want to know if there are any venues where I can catch smallmouth from the bank. Would like a small dam as I don’t want to do a lot of walking and would be easier to catch

And just for the record. I have never caught a smallie

Johan - your best option near Cape Town for bank angling is probably Wiesenhof Game Park. They have all three species of Bass.

Have a look at the site - they also have accomodation there.

If you are lucky you might just get a ride with one of the BFSA members to Kwaggas!

When do you plan your vacation?

Well then Cape Town it is. Now I just need to know where I need to book in to a Hotel or guest house. Where is Quaggas? And then I just need to be close to some wine farms so that I can keep the wife happy. I feel like an idiot. Don’t know Cape Town at all

Johan you simply have to get a day’s fishing on Kwaggas with one of the BFSA boys... the smallies are like largies on crack!
