Went fishing this afternoon at a private dam in Camperdown? we caught 9 fish between 600g and 1, 69 Kg?s. The weather started off great? lots of sunshine and no wind? then it changed to no sun and lots of wind which was a pity because for some reason the bass just were only interested in weightless Yumdingers? I did try a super fluke, a lizard, dead ringer and even a popper? the mojo rig wasn?t working either and only once I went weightless did Mr Bucket mouth start to get interested? now this was a bummer because not only am I not used to fishing weightless the wind was howling which made matters even worse? not the best type of fishing for a newbie!

Right at the end of the afternoon I put a 3? Yumdinger on a number 1.0 hook and caught the smallest bass I have ever seen! A real aggressive bite but he couldn?t have weighed more than 50g!

Aish..... how the other half live hey..... go fishing during the week!!!! **&^^*(!!!!!

I found that same type of pattern when I fished tuckers a while back... Fished carolina and texas then went to weightless Jr fluke (not fluke) and started getting fushes... Changed to weightless 3" yummies and caught.... loads of fun....

King dinger.... you need to watch your line!!! I was also fishing in windy conditions, but, if you watch the belly of your line you could see the pulls before you felt them. When the belly started to flatten you can take in a little slack and then you would feel the bumps!!!

Hi I am off to Gedetrow Dam today for a mid week throw. The weather is turning a bit nasty. So lets hope they will bite.

King dinger, if the wind pick up like that again try buzz baits or spinners. They work like charm in wind. Stick to the same colour pattern as you yum dinger sta the time. Try it you might be surprized.

The big problem with this private dam is that is infested with weeds and growth? I did try a popper but gave up within 2 throws? the only thing I can use is a plastic bait with the hook skinned and that?s bad enough. I will rather go to Inanda in future even although there are some nice bass in it? the pain of sitting on a little boat and clearing weeds off the anchor and hooks is too much for this ballie!
