Hi everyone, thanks for having me here!

I'm an avid amateur angler that has been on plenty of father and son fishing trips (sea and freshwater) mostly to little luck. Now 25 years old, a friend and I have been getting quite passionate about bass fishing and actually making catching more of a focal point rather than just enjoying the outdoors!

We've both been slowly kitting up with a nice variety of tackle and trying it out wherever we can find places to bank fish. Not having a boat or kickboat has been proving to make fishing great spots very difficult and limiting.

I just want to know if there's anywhere around Cape Town that hires out fishing boats or kickboats? Mofam have just informed me that they don't hire out their bass boat anymore. We'd really like to find somewhere to spend a weekend getting to know the water without having to sukkel from the bank in Western Cape winds!

Welcome to the site SladeZA!

Not as far as I know.
Regards Robert Jacobs
Purchase your own Kick Boat. You won't regret it.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

We've been looking into buying kickboats or potentially a small boat together but I think we want to see how far we can get before making the investment.

Has anyone got suggestions on good areas to do bank fishing?

We've been to the Croc farm and Klein Bottelary, as well as Clan William, Kwaggas and Theewaters, although it seems the farm ponds are a lot easier to access good spots than the large dams.

Thanks in advance.
You wont be sorry if you get float tubes or kickboats. They open up so many venues for you.

Theres also Rutter road and small princess vlei down south you can try and Doordekraal near Tygervalley but you do need a license for that venue.

Bulshoek is also a great venue for float tubes as well as the Breede
