R0.00 to R50,000 - 2nd hand Splash Bass - Good entry level boat
R 51,000 to R75,000 - 2nd hand Rebel 440 - Good option between Splash Bass & Raker
R76,000 to R100,000 - 2nd hand Ruffnek Raker X16 - Handles rough water
R101,000 to R150,000 - 2nd hand Brilliant Boats Terminator - Handles rough water
R150,000 to R200,000 - 2nd hand Ruffnek Viper/Tornado - Fast and sleek
R200,000 and up - Brilliant Boats Xterminator - ship of note

Imported Boat: Nitro Z21 - Just appeal to me (it works for KVD...)

Sorry to spoil your post Nav but I'm a Crackleback / Bass Seeker fan due to the configuration for bass fishing and the length : width ratio and they are just good handling boats.

No worries Rip. This is the purpose of this post.

We only have 2 Cracklebacks - a 500 and a 600 now on the competitive scene here in the Western Cape so we don't have a lot of knowledge about them. I would love to have guys motivate why they are the best in a specific price class. Cracklebacks seem to be quite popular in other Divisions.

Not right now but I have a passion to investigate and to keep a finger on the pulse when that days does come.

At the moment I must say I am very happy with my Raker X16 pending a few small upgrades I have planned for somewhere in the future.

Hey Nav, I'm not married to any brand or boat as it clouds one's logic and decision making. There is a war on boats on social media and CB and Tribal come to mind. Okes love posting pics of broken or sunken boats etc.

Here are the facts:

Flotation for Cat "R" is legally 30% but I can tell you that to get the average bass boat to stay afloat will take about 48%!
There is a big market in SA for budget friendly bass boats thus the lighter, just to min spec, no fancy gimmicks boats have a place. There is a boat building industry that should control itself and I don't know if due diligence is always followed. One would hope so.
2'nd Hand boats have already proved themselves on the water provided they are not drilled full of holes from all the previous owners preferences.

Deciding which boat nowadays is more difficult than deciding when to buy that ring............ :eusa_whistle:

2 T-birds here in the Western Cape that I know of...

... Nutt's one that is for sale and PDV's blue and yellow one.
