Hi Guys,

I have a very big passion for fishing, I read magazines, watch fishing programmes, you name it. Unfortunately I do not know of anyone in my circle of friends and family that shares this passion or even fishes. I am keen on just making a plan to visit a fishing location and just winging it but I don't know if that's the best way to go about it. Can you guys be as kind as to advise me on the best way to start up. I live in Northriding, JHB so I would preferably like to start off with somewhere close i.e fourways, hartes, eastrand or in the westrand. I would like to start off with Bass Fishing and work my way up to the other good stuff.

I already have fishing gear (though I am unsure if they are the right stuff)

Please if you guys could be as kind as to give me any tips, suggestions or perhaps a fishing buddy that would be open to a Rookie accompanying would be greatly appreciated Smile

+1! I tried rock and surf, estuary fishing you name it. Bass is tops.

I once tried catching carp on a bass spinning reel setup :eusa_shifty: but ended up asking someone for a spinner and throwing that :blue-lol:
