Vaping
Vaping is smoking e-cigarettes. If your better half is whining that you stink or is nagging you to give up then you need to have a look at Vaping… I have given up real ciggies (Anaologs) and switched to e-ciggies and home life is a lot better. I have stopped coughing… I hardly ever snore anymore, my taste and smell is coming back… and best of all my wife is happy.

From an occupational risk point of view this is an emerging risk and studies are currently being done to see what the extent of the risks are associated with the use of e-cigarettes in the workplace .... or in your bedroom/house next to your missus or kids. "Currently SA legislation for smoking is the Tobacco Products Control Amendment Act ,1999 . This is for tobacco smoke. Employers must have a written policy on smoking in the workplace, and the policy must be applied within three months from the date of coming into operation of the Tobacco Products Control Amendment Act, 1999 (Act No. 12 of 1999).
For Occupational Health and Safety, the duties of employers, in terms of the Act is that he/she must assess the risk and take appropriate action, and the Regulations for Hazardous Chemical Substances (HCS). Both allow the employer to prohibit e-cigarettes. I would prohibit them based on potential health effects to the user and increase in absorption of a chemical. Nicotine is a listed substance in the HCS Regulations and has an exposure limit (Occupational Exposure Limit Recommended Limit Time Weighted Average of 0.5 mg/m3 and a Short term exposure limit of 1.5 mg/m3) .
Therefore to use such a device the employer would need to evaluated the employees exposure to determine the amount of Nicotine in the air. In work environments with toxic air contaminants these would also need to be measured and the accumulative effect calculated. The employer therefore can prevent the use of such a device until scientific proof is available for him or her to evaluate."
Tell you what, I'll rather go fish with Rob smoking an analog or e-siggie any day before worrying about all this nonsense. :blue-biggrin:

Hi Rob - great to hear of another convert - had my last real ciggie nearly 6 months ago, and after close to 40 years of being a hardcore Camel addict i have not touched one - not to say the craving occasionally creeps in, but i wouldn't have been able to do it without the E substitute :blue-badgrin:

I have gone the same way im Vaping for about 4 weeks now and what a difference smell has improved, things taste a bit weird since my taste buds realized they are alowed to taste again im sleeping better less chest pains.

Best of all...No burn marks on my newly laid imported boat carpet...not that I smoke. My family and I were at dinner one evening recently,and this dude at the next table started puffing away on his e thing.When asked to refrain by the waitron, he refused,saying it is cigarette smoking that is not allowed in public and there is no regulation prohibiting the use of this device...he was not so politely evicted halfway through his meal !! :blue-lol:

Ja jong, for sanity sake (murder is a far more serious crime.....) I am still on the "real" thing, which can be enjoyed almost anywhere, at your own pace and without permission, permits and the like!
That aside (just makes me feel better), do they really work if you gooi in the odd heated smoke maker to wean slowly off?

Yes they do... if you try the odd real smoke occasionally it's actually a good thing because you realise how bad they smell... I'm not sure one will ever really get over the craving for the stinky poison but vaping has been a revelation and I doubt I will ever go back to analogs.

Sure thing! Only problem is this can become another hobby and I have gone a little bananas already… but asking for advice is the way to go and I wish I had done so before I climbed in like a bull in a china shop.
The Twisps are the ones we normally see and buy first because they have nice little kiosks in the major shopping centres… but they are expensive and their e-liquid while very nice is also expensive. Plus the Twisps have one MAJOR flaw and that is that condensation builds up in the mouth piece and every now and again you get a mouth full of nasty!
The best option is to buy two of these Vape King Pro Starter Kits… and I say 2 because you want two batteries when you are fishing if you are like me…

I can recommend the Vape King online shop and they are very speedy and their prices are reasonable. Order today delivery the next day!
Juices are a personal preference but my favourites are the following TopQ juices from Vape King…
Creamy Coffee, Spearmint Bubble Gum and Strawberry sensation.
Just a word of warning… do not tighten the battery and atomiser too tight because it’s difficult to unscrew later… it won’t leak because it has a good O ring system.

I'll respond more when I get back to my pc. The battery should last you the day but you will need to take a bottle if juice with you to top up.
