Weather Reports - Smeegle - 11-24-2006
Oh, woe is me! I get the all clear from the wife days ago, I spend every evening this week getting the boat ready, respooling reels, sorting out lures, watching bass pro DVD's etc. and becoming more and more excited for a days guilt free fishing tomorrow. And then I check the weather report.....

Do I even bother? How often, in your experience, has the weather man got it all wrong? Do you guys get put off by cold snaps like this, of is it still worthwhile dressing warmly, keeping dry and seeing it through? Please cheer me up, as I slip deeper and deeper into depression!

I'm fishing a club comp on sunday at Inanda..... But come hell or high water, I'll be there with bells on!!!! As long as the wind stays under control, I'll brave the elements!!!!! A little rain won't stop me and the fish don't mind, they're already wet!!!! lmao.....

I get so p%st with the weather, warm and sunny in the week, cold and rainy on the weekends. Maybe that is why I slipped away for some mid week fishing this week. I was also looking forward to some lekka fishing this weekend, but as you say no matter what the weather we still end up going!!!! It is better when the weather is lekker.......where are you fishing this weekend Smeegele?

While the local weather reports are often wrong the one on bf.co.za is a lot more accurate... But Mother Nature is fickle and changes her mind like I change my underpants and even the meteorologists and fancy weather models they use can?t get it right all the time? but even if it is raining tomorrow I will be on the dam? a little bit of rain doesn?t stop the fun of hunting for Mr Lincoln and family!
I don?t get enough time to fish at the best of times so come hell or high water I will be fishing tomorrow? Seeya at the dam at Five am!

Fab, the weather is a bit better up here, I was looking at PMB, wanna fish Nagle.
This is a forecast for Durbs, so I guess Inanda will be somewhere betwen the two. I know Robfisher mentioned a better forecast for Kloof before, Rob?

Nagle? it will be interesting to hear how it?s fishing? I?m concentrating all my efforts on Inanda because I need to win the new Rebel 532 at the Inanda Bass Classic in April!
Weather for Kloof (aka Inanda Dam) for Saturday is a 35% chance of rain? it will be light rain if it appears and less than a cm of rain. Wind will be SSE at 24kmph. I would call this fishing weather no problem!
Sunday is looking good Fab? partly cloudy and cool with no rain but a North Easterly of 21kmph.

Fortunately for me Pottie, I'm not a "Fair weather " fisherman.... The only thing that keeps me off the water is lightning and heavy water from high winds!!!! Other than that..... I FUUUUUUUSH!!!!!!!!! 8O :wink:

i use to be in a club called helderberg bassmasters, every time we would go for a club comp it would rain, so we changed it to helderberg rainmasters.
they say that 90% of the field get negitive ,about the rain during a comp, keep positive and fish hard you could win!
na the weather does not worry me, rain or shine , just do it!

It poured with rain in Hillcrest and Kloof today and the heavy rain missed Inanda Dam? we fished from Five am till midday and although there was the occasional light drizzle it never really rained and we didn?t get wet!

I was watching the weather report like a hawk for Witbank last week. seems the weather site also changes it's mind more often than......... It went from a forecast of 27kmph winds, then to 9kmph and then to 2kmph and finally back up to 9kmph all in one day.
Check the report often, when the weather changes to conditions you favour, check no more and prepare to fishing :lol:

Indeed it does Pomerob? the weather calculation model runs 24 hours a day and we get multiple updates all the time from San Francisco? one of the reasons our weather is so accurate it that a big part of the model calculation is elevation? it?s why we chose this feed over all others because the others tending to lump Durban and Kloof together when their weather systems can be completely opposite? while the forecast isn?t 100% it?s still way better than any other weather we have ever had.
