Wish i could attend...it can be quite tactical if you think about it...imagine catching a 3 kg bass on a fly and fighting with it for at least 2-3 minutes.

I?m still learning to master my bait caster so I will pass on the fly fishing for now and looking like a traffic cop? getting into fly fishing does sound appealing and there would be another whole ton of crap I could buy? Mmmmm.

Howzit Mr Robdog, I would love it!! I cath a lot of bass on fly when I visit the private spot in Nelspriut, there's nothing better than taking a decent bass on a little popper and a 5wt flyrod Smile

I would only use a 5 in a stream. A 7wt is more suited to dams and to me.

Rob a 1 to 1.5kg bass on a 5wt is a test of skill and good fun, and on a barbless hook, no real danger to the fish.
