I would also help if the Search box top right on the site starts working. Maybe link it to the Forum Search function

To give you some ideas with a calendar, herewith a format which I did for our club last season and which incorporates many of the ideas posted here:

Get rid of the automatic purge function in the "For Sale" threads. If you have a for sale section what is the sense in purging all the posts every week or so? Not all items sell in a couple of days (even if they are priced right) Virtually all other Bass forums local and foreign have for sale and WTB sections which generate a lot of traffic. It is also a valuable resource for forum members. At most introduce a minimum post count before one can post items for sale.

Yes, yes I know its not Gumtree. :blue-lol:

Why is it that the classifieds section of this forum is undeveloped?
Is it because of Bassmar's point; or some macro factor?
Sorry if I missed something.

To complicate matters further as regards my calendar attachment a few posts above, herewith a sample calendar I did for Border deep sea angling (my first love but slowly being lost to bass fishing........) this year. I see I had improvements which include links to various info and which could come in handy for BFSA - obviously you can put in the applicable links.

If anyone has the time and energy, I am willing to send them the word versions of these calendars which can be edited / amended / improved / etc to suit a very lekka annual calendar for this community? Everytime the calendar was updated I used to just send it out in pdf and members could save it and update the last version. This way no-one had an excuse for not knowing what was scheduled........, for what it's worth.

<!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.bassfishing.co.za/bassingnews/search.php?st=30&sk=t&sd=d&sr=topics&search_id=active_topics" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">search.php?st=30&sk=t&sd=d&sr=topics&search_id=active_topics</a><!-- l -->

This link need to have a more prominent tab. The search function is also not working that well.

For me the biggest issue is the pic upload and avatar upload. Automatic pic resizing if that is all possible.

What about a report back of the month to encourage more contribution.

No pressure Andy :blue-biggrin:
The more I learn about fishing the more I realise
how much more I have to learn about fishing.

Morning guys.

Thanks for all the input so far. Got some great ideas already. Keep them coming.

I'm gonna contact the website management today to arrange a Skype meeting for next week Thursday. This allows us some more time to discuss further matters.

Have a lekker day

The best thing you could do for BFSA is to change to the <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://xenforo.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://xenforo.com/</a><!-- m --> forum software. It's light years ahead of any of the other forum platforms. It also has tons of add ons and a very active developer scene!
