Hi Guys!

I might do a trip up to the Freestate over December towing the boat and fishing all my old honey holes along the way.

Have anyone fished VDK? apparently the water is slightly clearer than kwaggas...

Thanks

Just returned from VDK - tough fishing. We've been 3 times and never caught a bass though. You need a week or more to fish that dam as the weather can ruin any short trip. We've had cold fronts with 45km/h winds come through on all 3 trips, so you need a big boat. And you don't just rock up and catch yellows, they are really, really hard work!

The water has around 1.2m viz at the moment.

Hi Pershond

1.2m viz is better than most of our dams in WC..

Looks like decent camp site.. Who knows might be a good spot for comps like nationals cause of its position.

Thanks for the reply.

According to the recently completed RMP, there appears to be no record of bass being present!

If that RMP states there are no bass...wrong.

Hi Riprap
I've seen a photos of one of our local guys holding a 2kg bass he caught at VDK a couple of years ago.... Some days(weeks) even TWK show no trace of bass... lol

Mmnnn, interesting as normally an RMP's consultation is very broad and wide and they don't miss a thing! Must have been eggs attached to birds legs again. Thanks.
