Hi guys.

Only heard yesterday that GE Pro is free since Feb of this year.
Open GE - Help - Upgrade to GE Pro.
Follow the usual prompts and decide for yourself.
When prompted for a username, type in your e-mail address and the licence key is: GEPFREE

All your place marks etc are automatically recovered, presto!

Ok, although the two versions are different applications, a shortcut to the Pro version doesn't appear on your desktop. You might have to access it from your programs and it requires a sign as you registered it when you downloaded it.

Here are 4 reasons why you should download it: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/internet/google-earth-pro-is-now-free-here-are-4-reasons-you-should-download-it-11363975574113" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/interne ... 3975574113</a><!-- m -->

GE Pro does a silent install so if you can't find it and try to re-install, it will give you a 1603 ERROR message because it's already there! It is there in your programs.

Go to all programs and right click and send a shortcut to your desktop which is where most would have had the GE shortcut. After all this you can safely uninstall the older free version application to save disk space. Make sure that your place marks etc are showing in Pro before you do this.

Cool Thanks! Any tips on useful functions? Been using the old one for so long so I haven't fiddled with the menus much lately. I use the aerial photos as backgrounds quite a bit, and also street view to scope out sites without having to drive miles just to check something.
