Howzit Guys

I am looking to put in a rather large Tackle Warehouse order “well its large for me” in the next few weeks or so, and I was wondering if there is anyone based in the Western Cape looking to do the same and willing to share the shipping fees that are pretty hefty.

The current shipping fees are about $87.00 on a $400.00 order.

Anyone interested please let me know.

I'm interested.

Are you waiting for the Memorial day sale? Do you want to go pro-rata on the the shipping or 50/50, 33/33/33 etc?

Pleas PM me your e-mail adress

That shipping cost is a true deal-breaker.

I created a dummy order when TW was running a 10% "Tax stimulus" discount for about 20 packets of soft plastics a few months ago.

Their postage options were either $66 or $81.

I drew up a full Excel spreadsheet of the costing, factoring in the discount and postage across each packet of lures. In the end, a simple packet of 3" Fighting Frogs would've cost me around R80 each.
Granted, that was when the exchange rate was around R13-$1 - it has eased off somewhat since then.

Told myself - I'll stick to what I can find in SA (or wait for Roy to do another purge of his tackle cupboard again  and post it on BFSA!

I recently discovered <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.aramexglobalshopper.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.aramexglobalshopper.com</a><!-- w -->.

With them you can order stuff worldwide and then have it delivered to an address in 13 countries worldwide. They then ship your package from there to you via Aramex couriers starting from R175 per half a kilogram.

So, what I've done was order stuff online, make use of that online store's free shipping and ship it to my Aramex address in that country and then they courier it from there to me.

I've used it a couple of times now and it works great. I've ordered a reel, fly rod etc.

but tacklewarehouse is very strict, credit card details much match shipping address. Cant ship to US address when credit card is registered in SA.

If you package weighs 900 grams or is 55$ or less you can generally get away with $15 shipping.

The only problem at the moment is SAPO backlog and exchange rate.

You can wait 4 months + if you go through SAPO.

Current 15% off sale ends on the 26th May 2015.

The Current TW Memorial Day Sale ends 5pm Pacific Standard Time on Tuesday so it will end 2am Wednesday morning SA time.

Shipping charges are completely out of whack.

$120 shipping on a $60 order of small stuff (not bulky).

Gah!

I am also tempted by the $15 option - it seems to stretch quite far in terms of the numbers of packets of plastics in your cart

Just bear in mind that these $ 15 orders are not insured. If they go missing...your loss.
