Howzit Guys

Yes the Shootout and team event needs to take place the big issue is we heading into winter now and we want the guys to catch fish.

So I would like to hear what your suggestions would be for dates and venues where we can have these events.

I have been scratching my head on this one.

In my honest opinion there is no point in doing this now. The only real options right now are Clan / Bulshoek and after spending a week there last week I really wouldn't bother. Again....this is just my opinion....

My thoughts on this was to hold something in August weather dependant as there is very little water in the Cape at the moment we need the dams to fill up, and honestly Im getting a bit tired of casting at rocks need to pitch and flip something for a change

It's not like any of the KBT guys completely stop fishing over the winter anyway. Fair enough you fish less because some days are miserable, but i think let the guys decide if they are want to be part of the even or not.

Just say when and where and I'm in!

I think announce the team 1st. Whether it is fished now in the colder months or when it warms up it makes no difference. Personally think it just makes it more challenging which would be a good thing and tests each individual/teams ability to fish all conditions and adapt.

Just to clarify Roy,the 'Shootout' will be an event that takes the top so many finishers and they fish for a day to determine a 'one day champion' ? And the 'Team' event has the top 5 choose, in turn, from those remaining in the top 25 to make 5 teams of five anglers ?
Let the Shootout event be a one day thing at Poorties when the level is up to full, say in the month of August. And the Team Event be something held at Clan, also when the water is up in September. This team event can take place on a Saturday and Sunday morning...gives one a nice long fishing session to arrange things with your team members.
I also do not think there is any venue at the moment that has a decent water level.
Just a suggestion...
Life is not about the number of breaths we make, but the moments that take our breath away.

At this very moment Poortjies is on 65% . I fished Poortjies this past weekend and the water temp was 17 degrees, not cold for this time of the year.
I can organize a dam for the one day finale, but remember it is 3/4 the size of Poortjies, not open for the public so no phone calls to the farmer for private fishing when ever you want to. The dam record at this stage is 3,84 kg LM.

Hi Breedesmallie we might just have to take you up on the offer, as the whole idea behind the top 15 Shootout is to fish a venue that no one has fished before so no pre fishing will take place for both the Shootout and the team event the whole idea behind the team event is to bring guys together strategize and plan and the Shootout is to test your skills.

Yes Roy no pre fishing, no calls to the farmer after the shootout to try your luck. I am the only one allowed on the dam but I will do some gat lek to organize something for you guys. I can't promise anything but I don't think there will be a problem. Unfortunately no camping but maybe, just maybe he will say yes for camping at his site.
