So another KBT has come and gone and on the day there were missed opportunities for some and good fortune for others.
My day started off a bit slow but picked up nicely I caught a good number of fish but the one that mattered did not stick, I am still a bit bemused on how it came off but that’s fishing and there is always a next time.
So here are the positions and points:

2. Rory Heidmann 44.35
3. Jason Vorster 43.32
4. Pieter Piek 42.21
5. Grant Snowball 41.12
6. Theo Wenhold 41.10
7. Pieter vd Merwe 39.04
8. Dewald Vos 37.96
9. Roy De Wet 36.95
10. Craig Crossman 35.91
11. Gavin SW 34.79
12. Richard Blair 33.26
Edwin Pentz 33.26
13. Martin Atwell 32.51
14. Malcolm Palmer 31.50
15. Jason Fraser 30.40
16. Billy Miller 29.36
17. Angus Crowther 28.13
18. Deon Rossouw 26.24
19. Sarah Crossman 25.12

well done JM and others. Please could someone show me how the points translate into weights? Would like to know what the fish and bag weights were.

jonni Wrote:well done JM and others. Please could someone show me how the points translate into weights? Would like to know what the fish and bag weights were.

Jonni, I got 2nd with a 2.35kg bag. So 2.35 plus 3 points for 3 fish and 39 points. 1st gets 40 and it goes down from there. So my total was 43.35

Only difference is when there's a 2 day comp there's extra points ( which is silly imho ) but that's how it goes....

Why is it silly?

Simple maths really 1 day comp 3 live fish = 3 point
2 day comp 6 live fish 3 fish per day = 6 points

Common sense actually

Jonni let me just help this man with his maths his total was actually 44.35 not 34.35

weight 2.35, points per live fish 3, bonus points 39, added together = 44.35

So a guy who get's 3rd at a 2 day comp gets 51 points....and a guy who gets 3rd at a 1 day comp gets 43 points? Who's the better angler at that specific comp? The bag weight already gives the 2 day comp an advantage....should be half a point per fish at 2 day comps....

Common sense - 'noun' - Good sense and sound judgement in practical matters.
