Rory Wrote:So a guy who get's 3rd at a 2 day comp gets 51 points....and a guy who gets 3rd at a 1 day comp gets 43 points? Who's the better angler at that specific comp? The bag weight already gives the 2 day comp an advantage....should be half a point per fish at 2 day comps....

Common sense - 'noun' - Good sense and sound judgement in practical matters.

A guy who loads two decent bags on two consecutive days to me is the better angler don't worry Rory I'm sure you wont complain if you place well at Clan.

jonni Wrote:well done JM and others. Please could someone show me how the points translate into weights? Would like to know what the fish and bag weights were.

Hey Jonni, its a bit complicate to reverse engineer the bag weights.

Because we are hoping to have interprovincial Kick Boat comp I believe we adopted a point system similar to the Divisional.

Three fish bag limit with Total points consisting of :
1) 1 point per live fish
2) Total weight of bag, &
3) Positional points.

Positional points are awarded as follows: 40 points to 1st place, 39 to 2nd etc.

For this last venue (Provost) JM kicked ass with a 3 fish bag of 4.29kg, Rory was 2nd with 2.35kg. It got really tight after that - I was in 10th with only 440g less than Rory.

For the overall Season each angler's top 5 out of the 7 events are counted. Although I beleive an 8th event has now been included

Well done guys or must I say boys. Nice fish JM. I am betting on JM and (Smurf) Richard Blair to take the kick boat comp. this season. :eusa_dance:
Would be nice if JM could give us a report and what is the weight off the big fish.

Unfortunately JM is missing the last 3 comps and has decided that half naked french chicks on the island are more appealing than sweating it out with us on the water....

Oh yes and before my sieve like memory forgets again. Thanks to Ol Bigmouth for sponsoring some goodies. Its nice to have 'close but no cigar' prizes.

Roy was kind enough to send me photos of the weigh sheets, heres something more legible.

Mark1,be very careful where you are treading right now, unless you are more than half a century in years...it is one of the oldest trying to get one over those testosterone laced young guns.Well done JM on a great win and those others that hit the jackpot this past weekend. :eusa_clap:

smurf – Bought a kick boat from Roy and believe me I’m overweight and also over 50+ with a bum knee.
Just want to gauge if It will be worth to try and compete or just do social fishing !!! Must say I enjoy the bantering that goes on the site makes for a good read!!!

Mark1,it is always a good place to be with all the other kick boaters...some are a little more competitive and others are there just to fish the venue and have a chat.We see you there then ?
