Bomb, the politics around this body of water is worse than anything you could imagine. Kiall has no say in what is allowed onto the water. This is an arrangement STICKILY controlled by all land owners surrounding the dam.

Thanks for that Frogstar, I could not have said it any better.

+1. Indemnity form and a few simple rules should work.

My turn.

I really do enjoy Mofam. I enjoy my pitching and have gotten into throwing some stickbaits with great success there. The only bad days I really had there was when I first fished the place in 2012 and in winter this year.(talking about the fishing)

Probably every time I have been there I have had issues with trolling motors. Some don't steer in the right direction. Some are rickety as hell and the sound is amplified ten fold in water. Some are just plain crap to use.

The batteries...they don't last long at all and when I call in for a new one, a couple times I got batteries that were basically flat. Was not pleasant hey. Geez the words I had coming out of my mouth. Frustrating. The one cold winter day, we took FIVE batteries, FIVE okes! We still chugged along slowly to get back at the end of the day. Ridiculous. And we spent close to an hour tied up on the bank as we were being blown backwards just using the motors on full speed.

I have not complained much as the fishing was pretty good for me. Quantity. Definitely not quality. Was fun nonetheless.

I have called in a few times and have asked if new batteries had been bought. I was told yes. I get there and get batteries that look like they were dug up from underground by some archaeologists. Old...very old, rusted, dirty and dusty. Crazy.

I bought mofam vouchers and seriously thought something would be done with the boats. I regret buying them, I must say.

I'm done here. Thanks for having me.

If I may suggest that the management and charging systems of the deep cycle batteries be looked into by someone in the know with a view to prolonging their lifespan. It's never kind on the plates to discharge these batteries flat flat on a regular basis and they need to be charged as soon as possible after use and maintained whilst not in use. They are made for many normal discharges and should last longer than this.

By the way, Energizer (Enerterc) 105A deep cycles are available for under R1 500 ea!

To me this is another true south african situation,we could just aswell be talking about a certain(only)electricity supplier. At the same time that mofam's product have gone down in quality it has had a price increase.I also feel they should fix the boats up one at a time and only rent it out once fully operational.I will only fish there again when they can guarantee good service. When you go out for a 500g steak and you get 300g,will you go back there, not me!To me the answer is quite simple, don't support them untill they can deliver a quality product. You don't buy a naughty child icecream.

Howsit,

I found the darker baits work well for me there, Junebug and Black.
Grubs and senko's... Also started fishing Jigs there which works well.

I personally enjoy going left but there is fish all over the show.

Have a good one!
