Hi,

Check out this strange smallie? caught at kwaggas over the weekend, any idea why it would have such a weirdly shaped head?

There are quite a few odd looking fish in all our dams, yet they still manage to survive the odds.It appears that this is not so much an injury, but a birth deformity, but due to the fact that you caught 'Nemo',it goes to show it is healthy and feeding ok as it is a good size. But then again, you do attract some strange things...

Considering how small the initial genetics was for our bass back then, I'm surprised that this is not more common. Normally the hunchbacks and like are bird damaged when young but they too live to old age.

The bigmouth in my avatar was also a bit deformed - for 3kg I suppose it should've been an extra 4cm in length!
