Hi guys,

I found a nice way to repair your old soft plastics without having to re-smelt them or anything like that. Best of all is it is almost 100% free.

First get yourself:
A metal knife
A candle
Matches
Some toiletpaper/carltonroll
Teared/Broken plastic

Step 1:

Light the candle and heat the tip of the knife. Then get rid of the soot on the carltonroll.

Step 2:

Apply to broken spot. In my case the tip of my fighting frog tore open.

Step 3: Then close the tear with your fingers or the tip of the knife.

That's it your plastic is done. It can also be used to shorten your senkos etc.

Thanks for reading :blue-biggrin:

There is also a product called Mend-it on the market to fuse soft plastics together. Have not used it myself but I am told it works well.

Found this video that explains how it works

Can anyone point me in the direction of a tackle shop that stocks mendit, used the product before and it works great just don't let it get to warm otherwise it turns rock hard in the bottle.

Thanks BLY, I also use this technique as Mend-it seems to have a shelf life.

I've used some off the shelve soft plastic glue which also did the trick quite nicely. Although I'm not sure if this adds some unwanted smell to it? Is this stuff okay to use?
