Nagle Warning

Hi all,just a little word of advice to anyone fishing Nagel dam near Durban.............I have fished there a number of times and always take the beware of crocodiles signs with a pinch of salt.................until last Saturday.

My mate and I had been fishing up by the weir and decided to head back towards the wall.As we came around the corner at the campsites we noticed something on the ski-ramp.At first I thought it was a log that had drifted onto it because of the rain and how quickly the dam has filled up.

Long story short..............when we got closer it turned out to be a massive crocodile.I have a video of it on my phone,but can't seem to upload it.I will persevere though and get it posted.

I have seen one or two kickboaters there before and would hate anyone becoming a snack.Believe me when I say this "FLATDOG" is BIG!!!!!!!!!!!! Probably in the region of 2,5-3m.It is not scared of boats either as we got to within 10-15 meters of it.

There has been reports of a croc there and even pics posted but that was a while back so it seems she has grown a bit as it was smaller then what you discribe.

There are always people in the water at Nagle and soon one of those egg beaters will be chomped.

I am a kickboater but it is common knowledge that there are crocs in nagle, not just one. When I go to nagle I always go in a boat. Every time I'm there I see a croc or 2 so I'm surprised that people are still ignorant. I personally have never seen a kickboat there and all the kickboaters I know would never set foot into that water.

Last time i was there i saw laaities playing in the water... so i warned the parents, who promptly called them out. Then a short distance away a carp angler was letting his very young son wade into the water and fish, even though he knew there were crocs there!!! his response to me was "oh, don't worry, I'm watching him" ! lololol

I know that Jonni...............Not according to the staff that man the gate,or every other motor- boat that uses it.LOL..............I would love to see the sneaker motor that can pull someone fast enough to utilise that ski-ramp.
