Hi
My buddie and I realy like Hazelmere, nice and quiet ,and we usually go right towards the dam wall keeping close to the right side and then working back on the opposite side.

Hazel is a gem of a place. Some nice fish on the left of the dam which is an area reserved only for Jet Ski's. If you go during midweek it is not a proplem to fish there. Have not been there for some time now but you will get a bass or two for sure. :blue-cool:

Hi Coyote. We are having a bass fishing competition this weekend at Hazelmere with the emphasis on fun, families and getting kids fishing. We start at 09h30 on Saturday and will be camping at the waters edge next to the slipway. Anyone is welcome and on any boat. We have a website going www.majorbass.wozaonline.co.za . You would be most welcome to come along and join us. It costs R50 to enter and the cash goes into a pot to be distributed amongst the top anglers. We also have some lucky draws and everyone who enters get a luck dip. Regards

Hi Rip Rap. Silverfox ha ha - the "old" in the chap is spot on! I'm from Durbs, love bass fishing and will be fishing with my youngest son this weekend at Hazelmere. We arrange an event once a month at a different venue. Last month we fished Albert Falls and had a ball. We encourage families to camp and fish together and the emphasis is on fun and inproving rather than out and out winning.

Welcome Grysbaard :blue-biggrin:

We need a bit of your initiative here in De Kaap! Pity it is little bit chilly at the moment...

There is a big kickboat community that fish Hazelmere. On the left of the picnic area is a nice little river systems. They are called puddlehoppers. Crankystanley knows more about them.

The more I learn about fishing the more I realise
how much more I have to learn about fishing.

Hi Ernst. You are more than welcome to join us on a kickboat. In fact, the last time we fished Hazelmere, Kevin fished on one of his and creamed us all! If my son wasn't fishing with me, I would have used my kick boat. :blue-cool:
