Goedertrouw ??

Hi i am off to Goedertrouw this weekend. Would anyone be so kind as to share some tips on whats working / has worked. A few GPS marks would be awesome.
I have a map off of the Streetmaps site with names of a few spots ie James bay tims trees croc point etc so any tips on where may be fishing well would be appreciated.

I see the weather is predicted to be windy and wet !

I have had some very good fishing at Goedies in the pouring rain so hope that is the case with you.

Cranks in light colours (sexy shad). Senkos, creature baits and big heavy jigs all in dark colours are my preference.

Goedertrouw is a very fickled dam and those Florida bass can shut down completely or come on at anytime.

It very difficult to say where the bass might have moved to but all the points from the dam wall towards the T-junction produce.

You can also try in the thick Sesbania trees which some call pepper trees. They are more up river to the left, West street, dudes point and round into the river channel.

Good luck and if the fishing isn't good you are still in a stunning setting to remember to enjoy it.

That's the problem with pure Florida's, even moons in other galaxies effect them!

Watermelon Candy Flukes fished weightless at rocky points and jerk baits and DD22's at the dam wall. Also try the Island west of the dam wall. Enjoy!

Prepare yourself to either blank or to be hooked up with monster bass! :blue-cool:

Very unpredictable those Florida's. You would rather want cloudy and rainy days then sun sine. Also check if the sun and moon rise is far apart. more than 7-8 hours (CBC), this will increase your chances. :blue-cool:

Jeremy, rip rap MoJo Ninja Thanks for the tips and info, i am sure it will help with the confidance and save me fishing in my boxes when i should be in the water. Very un-nerving fishing a new body of water !

Would you believe it my GPS/ Finder just went FZZZZZzzzzz as i was getting my boat ready. have to work off the map and the finder up front !!!! Grrrrr
