This past weekend saw arguably the biggest event in SA bass fishing, the 13th Black Bass World Championship. Other than an announcement there was NO activity on this site. Zero!

Last weekend the first Western Cape Money Trail event at Clan was run. No results or discussions!

I understand there was a KBT this past weekend. No results or report backs.

What needs to be done? A proper, usable site refresh? New, fresh content. Proper competitions rewarding user content. Active reporting.

This site is currently an insult to the great work Shane did over the years.
Occasionally I use words I don't fully understand to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Could not agree with you more Grant.

Its sad that it has lost its... well... everything really.

I suspect that when it was hacked/cracked that there was no rush to get things going again. This, in part I guess, allowed the likes of the various facebook pages for bass to take over. This in turn allowed facegimp users to use social media in an easier way than the old, or even this new format forum. That coupled with instant messaging, phone apps made it all the more easier.

Sadly though Grant, I dont see it being resuscitated successfully unless a biiiig change happens to the platform. I guess I see it at present as a money driven advertising platform more than an interactive member forum like the days of past.

A simple email sent out to all the registered members would have been a great drive to get everyone back - but maybe that info was lost in the hack/crack of the old site? (but it shouldnt have been as my user login passwords etc still worked)

By the way, I made the announcement for the world champs - you missed a great event. The organisers did a magnificent job of hosting the tournament. I hope you were able to watch some of the live footage?

Anyway, enough of my bleating - no one listened in the past anyway, no reason why they should now.

@Ian-fisherman:

Go to weighmasters.net and get all the info on the WCMT you need. You can also enter on line there too.

Hi Guys

The Platform definitely took a big knock after the hack.

We were actually very lucky to gather all information and keep all the members. In the beginning we tried yo keep the previous platform but it just wasn't possible so we had no choice to rebuild the site. Yes, we knew it was going to be a longer process but we had no other choice. Perhaps Jonni can provide us with more information.

I have definitely not lost interest in BFSA otherwise I wouldn't of bothered spending the time and money rebuilding the site. I have asked a few guys to assist me in getting the site active again.

Jim, please don't look at the site as a advertising platform. Please keep in mind funds are needed to manage the site from being hacked again. These tings are not free.

But anyways past is the past and I hope we can rebuild the platform to where it was. Perhaps we can come up with ideas to get it active again. Member of the month for most active post or something.

Ian,

Dates as follows

21st Oct Clanwilliam
28 Oct Lomomd
29 Oct Quagges

Final 2-3 Dec TBC

Morning all.

The current platform is what it is. I preferred the old site but that's not possible.
Maybe an e-mail reminder to all members is not such a bad idea. Rolleyes
Times are changing, granted, but many such platforms are still active in fishing circles and it's up to the members to keep it exciting, interactive and educational. let's give it a go.

Are there any stats of how many active users or at least views there have been since the new site started?

Hi Guys,

yes with change challanges would arise.
The spring rains has just fallen, so i believe report backs would start coming in, and perhaps, encourage with the report back, tips and tricks that worked. That would for sure lure the beginners back in. Senior members would also then have input in these report backs.

time would tell neh...
